It does help to have small hands to disconnect the cable from the pedal mechanism.

Bill,
1. Be sure to have moly grease such as Valvoline #986, and a new clevis and pin/clip on hand when you start the repair! 2. Lubricate the new cable about 18" at a time as you feed the new cable into the body guide tube. 3. Be SURE that the Bowden tube (black plastic-covered sheath from firewall to transaxle mounting point) is fully seated at the 'dimple' in the firewall before adjusting freeplay at pedal. Good luck!

I did this job in my 72 and it took me about 1.5 hours.
It's pretty easy. |
