Rothsport rsr eye candy today

I stopped by Rothsport today to pick up one of Jeff's very nicely made alternator pulleys and this was in his shop getting some work done.
.
Yes, it's the real one that you have seen on the rsr car hauler picture. I just wish I had a real camera!

It was interesting to listen in on the discusson about what was original and what had been changed on the car over the last 38 years.

Jeff was great to talk to. He walked me through his entire facility, answered all of my questions, and I was able to see first hand the amount of work and quality that goes into everything that comes out of his place.

I couldn't guess one way or another. All I know is I'll probably never see it again once it heads to it's new owner in FL.....

I really love to get cars like that on my lift when I'm doing tech inspections. They just have so much character. And then to be out on track with them the following week is absolutely awesome.

This will make you weep then seeing the price this sold for recently and what you could have had one for when the series changed to Camaro's

If I could afford to buy and original one it would be Denny Hulme's Arrow Blue IROC

Cheers Al

That's my old car. It is Sahara Beige. It was put on pole by Fittipaldi in the first ever IROC race at Riverside in Nov of 1973 but Emo was penalized for being 5 min late to the drivers meeting and was sent to the back of the pack.

Car was sold to John Tunstall in Sarasota and raced by John and sometimes Charlie Kemp.

It was purchased at the 1978 24 Hours of Daytona by Pablo Escobar... yes that Pablo Escobar.

It is a great car.

According to internet inflation calculators, $21,500 in 1974 is about $100,469.54--yep, that was a deal.
