Replacement door panels
I have searched the forums and I can't find the answer ....
I have an 88 930.... I would like to put the RSR door panels in and I can't figure out how the door handle attaches .... I understand how the door opener works and attaches, but the door handles appear to be about 5 inches wide, and the attachment points for the stock door handles are only about 1 1/2 inches apart. What does the RSR door handles attach to? If it is just to the door panel, that would seem that the panels would eventually fail due to the stress of pulling on them. Can someone explain the installation to me....

I'm sure the info is on Pelican but I saw this yesterday
Aussie 964C2 Maintenance Diary (pic heavy!) - Page 7 - Rennlist Discussion Forums Post#104 It looks like you need to put a couple of nut inserts in the door to bolt the handle to. Last edited by jrbennett; 09-20-2012 at 08:35 PM.. Reason: added post # |

I've got the RSA+ door panels from AppBiz and really llike them. To mount the door pulls you drill 2 holes in the metal panel. Then you install threaded fittings in the holes. The door panels are then installed and the pulls attached with screws and hidden by covers. All this per included instructions. I have had no problems with the door pulls.
