Thanks Buddy
|
PS. Is there enough clearance (width) to drive over the lift when not in use??
|
A 911 is too low to drive over the lift. I built wooden ramps to clear (you can see them in the pic in this thread). I normally park the car on the ramps.

As an "organ donor recipient" in the form of John backdating his heat and selling me his left hand plastic heat socket for my 82SC, I'd like to once again say "Thanks John!" and have comfort that part of your car is touring the sunny South! :D
|
Skipping ahead a bit here. The car is painted, getting polished and will be coming home for re-assembly on Thursday! We were originally looking to use PPG paint on the car, but the Viper Green Diamond just looked pale and lifeless in PPG. So, we switched over to Glasurit. Costed more money, but the color match was perfect! It is very hard to capture the true color from a phone camera.
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1363139112.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1363139089.jpg Jason and his crew over at Apex did an outstanding job and did it quickly as well. Highly recommended if you are looking to get some new paint on your car in the Pacific Northwest. I've also been making progress on the motor. I'm currently mocking everything up so that I can get the engine tin cut up properly for the lower plug wires. I also had to fit the new engine shroud that I got from Damon @ Series900. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1363138878.jpg |
amazing work and that color is beautiful, can't wait to see her put back together.
|
dang that's looking sweet. Keep the re-construction pictures coming!
|
Wow, the color is sweet but the name is awesome. "Viper green diamond" man that sounds cool. Any graphics going on that beauty?
|
Thanks guys! I'm pretty excited how it is all turning out. Nope, no graphics going on the car.
Duck tail is mounted. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1363194491.jpg |

Hey John,
Here is my first post on Pelican Parts. With the CD that I gave you of your 911 restoration, I did not get all of the final photos of the car on to the CD, but I thought I would post a couple here until I can get them to you. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1363492821.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1363492841.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1363492864.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1363492878.jpg |
Great color...
I'm in the middle of trying to fund a somewhat proper backdate myself, I'm close to having all the parts assembled - now comes the hard part of trying to save up for the labor. The labor costs are tough because you can't "hold" the part in your hand to justify the expenditure...
I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, but that shade of green is a refreshing departure from red, black, silver, or white... |
Jason,
Great to see you on the forums! Now that I have had my baby back in the garage for a couple of days, I must say that your work is impeccable. Your experience definitely shows! Thanks for putting so much of your blood and sweat into making this project a reality for me! G450X, I dig the color as well. I wanted something different and a bit wild, but still a stock Porsche color. I've been working hard getting the car back together. I'll try to do an update tomorrow. |
Hot damn! Great color, and great work guys! Keep it going!

I have known Jason and Matt for many years. I didn't expect anything less from them. John I'm glad you didn't backdate this car. The last Viper/Diamond Green car I saw was a Stock'78 with 16K original Sold a while back for well over 50K. I thought it was stunning. This car will be every bit of that, but with the motor mods.....Awesome! Get it done!!!!!!! I want a ride!
Congrats, Kelly |
John I know you have been assembling you car your leaving us hanging . How about an update?
Jason |
I've been spending long hours in the garage recently. All the body bits are on. The electrical is in and tested. Headliner is in (that wasn't fun). Lots of progress and lots more to do still. Here are a few pics (iphone and poor lighting, sorry).
