Starting problem

So I am a new 911 owner, I purchased a 1982 911 euro SC with the 930 10 motor. When I start the car for the first time when the motor is ice cold it starts perfect idle is around 1100 then after a short it drops down to 900. The problem occurs when I drive the car and it sits for around 1 hr it starts then will run a low idle and sometimes stall. Now when I rev the motor and start the car moving with around 1500 rpm and start to drive the problem goes away.

First, congrats on the car (awesome choice) and welcome to the forum!

You are required by forum law to post pictures. :)

You are describing a warm start problem. Not uncommon. You've got some reading to do. Start by grabbing a brew, searching for "CIS" on the forum and prepare to settle in for a while.

Another resource is the Bentley manual. It will describe several important troubleshooting procedures. Although, since you have a RoW car I'm not sure if the Bentley covers your situation. That's a good question maybe someone else knows the answer to. I think there are some significant differences between US and RoW when it comes to CIS if I remember correctly. You are probably going to need something that illustrates the differences between the RoW and US models.

Another good source of reading is CIS Primer for the Porsche 911

And here is a copy/paste from the troubleshooting section of the above site as to the most common culprits:

- Leaks in air intake system (false air)
- Sensor plate and /or plugunger not moving freely
- Cold start valve leaking
- "Warm" control pressure too high
- "Warm" control pressure too low
- Injector leaking, opening pressure too low
- Injected fuel quantities unequal
- Basic idle setting incorrect
- Lambda control system not functioning properly

There are a few resident CIS experts on the forum. Hopefully they will chime in and offer some advice.

Good luck and congrats again!
