Stalling issue
Hey Fellas,
Having a small issue with my 81SC. The car fires up and runs great, but after about 5 minutes, or once it gets up to proper operating temp, it stalls when I press the clutch in. I can heel/toe the brake and throttle to keep it from doing so, but that's gets old. It fires right up after it stalls. Has anybody had this issue? Cheers, Ryan |
What are your fuel pressures?
Cold, running and system as well as residual bleed down times. |
How long have you had......
Do you remember when this problem started showing up? Fall season (September - October) is the time when CIS problem/s start showing up and tend to get worse as the weather gets cooler. You need to give us a little bit more information about the problem and specific operating condition of your engine (fuel pressures, fuel mixture, vacuum integrity, etc.). It is mandatory to have a fuel pressure kit in fuel injection troubleshooting otherwise it would involve a lot of guess-work. Thus making a simple troubleshooting procedure very difficult and unreliable.
First thing first, determine your operating fuel pressures (cold & warm). If you don't have the correct tool, find someone or a shop to measure them for you. From a stone cold engine, you would need about 30 mins. of work to complete the test (control pressure vs. time) and another 30 mins. to do the air/vacuum test. You don't even need to run the engine to collect these critical information. This is not news, these procedures have been done successfully by DIY'ers and been proven very effective time and again. Keep us posted. Tony |
