Can someone in SoCal check out a car for me??

Rock Bottom Motors
6329 Lankershim Blvd
North Hollywood, CA 91606

Phone: 818-980-7044
Fax: 818-980-6422

They've got a black/tan 1978 Porsche 911 SC, 127k miles, second owner, they say it's perfectly clean with records and are asking $13k. Could someone stop by and let me know if they're bull****ting me or if the car looks like a good buy. Thanks!

I can do it...but I saw that car online a month or two ago and never went. I run in fear from small independent dealerships.

That being said, I can try and swing by in the next day or two and snap some pics.

Thanks a lot, I really appreciate it! I fully understand that I'll have to look for quite a while to find the right car...there's no point in passing this one up though just because it's been listed recently. I'll get the story on the car, have it inspected if it's decent, and if it's a ****box then the problems will be revealed in the PPI and I'll move along in my search.

If you could start it up, maybe drive it and tell me how it runs [or smokes, lol ] that'd be ideal! They say it's got brand new tires, great body/paint, great interior, new headlights and car stereo.

I'm failing to see any worth or substance in this reply... Did I not say I'm having the car checked out and inspected if need be...twice? Alright then. If you had a more thoughtful or helpful suggestion I'm sure you would've said it...

Hey, un-clench and lighten up.

Was going to take a run up there with my camera for you and take some ditital pics. Slightly out of my way and just a few hours of my time. Just to help you out. But saw nostatic was already going to do it for you.

Not to worry. In the future, won't bother with your posts.

Ok, thanks for your extensive help and the tasteful remark that's making my 911 buying experience more pleasurable...

Hey G96, pull that brick out of your A$$.
I live in the area too and would have gladly checked it out, but like the other guy, I'll let nostatic deal with it and if he can't, I won't bother either.

Wow, animosity is an understatement. I posted a thread asking for a bit of help and to my surprise *gasp* I get some retort about the name of the dealer that has a car I'm interested in checking out.

I'm sure plenty of you have had stressful car buying experiences...provoking doubt in me while buying a car isn't exactly what I'd call 'fun.' It's ridiculous that some of you have decided to jump on this little bandwagon and insist that you'll take no part in helping me just because I objected to someone's opinion. I've received two copy-cat replies from members saying they [ib]would've[/ib] helped out, but...now they won't without ever indicating before that they intended to make a trip to the dealer to look at the car.

I've been very enthusiastic and appreciative of people who have e-mailed me with the notion that they'd look at the car for me, but those of you revoking your willingness to help without even saying you were going to are being childish...

Negative, soldier. Someone needs to send you a clue, n00b. At least 1/6 of your input on this forum is absolute garbage, I won't delve in any deeper to prove if the ratio is greater.

WTF???
OK space goblin G96 (whatever the hell that means), tell you what. I'll go down to your new favorite dealer RB Motors and check out the ride. Rest assured I'll take tons of e-pics and return to you a glowing report that you will not be able to resist. This 'friggen SC will be so nice that you'll just HAVE to fly down, cash in hand and buy her. Then on your way back to SF you can enjoy finding all the flaws yourself you knucklehead.

Wow, a completely biased report on the 911. You sound just like a typical auto-sales crook...do you have a background in that field of work, by chance?

Why yes...

...I happen to be the lad who owns Rock Bottom Motors - nice guess.
Hope to see you on the lot. You'll be the one with the wad-laden bulging pockets and plane ticket hanging out your back pocket.
