Fitting 993 Seats into 88 Carrera Coupe?

Looking at the "possibility"of fitting standard 993 Carrera Coupe seats into an 88 Carrera Coupe (front and back) ....... any comment on viability ?

I believe the fronts should just bolt right in with no mods necessary. The rear seats might require some MacGuyver actions, most notably, the locking mechanism to keep them upright.

i can't comment on the back but for fronts if they are manual you won't have any problems. if they are power you will need 1/4" spacers to allow the mechanisms to move freely. i had a set of power 993 seats in my 83SC.

i recently switched them out for a set of 77-81 manual sport seats and there is a significant height difference. so much so that i had to really change the angle of my rear view mirror to see anything.

Sorry for the highjack, but which way? Were the 77-81 seats lower or higher?

As well, I suspect all 993 seats are powered in some way. I believe the sport seats are identical to the ones in my '87. Well, except for the upholstery, that is...

The 85 and later seats sit higher in the pre 85 cars because of the base height that the seats sit on and the height of the seat back closing toward the roof

lower. the 993 seats were higher to begin with due to being power, then i had to add spacers to allow it to travel back and forth.
