Oil pressure gauge reading with engine off...

Could someone go tell me what their oil pressure gauge actually reads when the engine is OFF and the key is in the SECOND position before starting?

Mine is between 1 and 2 BAR which I would expect it to set itself to 0.

I'm trying to troubleshoot a recently occurring high oil pressure reading. Basically it pegs to 5 at anything above 2k RPM. Just started happening in the past few days.

Question On Oil Pressure Sender

Try this thread.... I think post 14 has the test you can try to pinpoint the problem. Likely a sender problem. Mine used to go up to 4 and stay when the ignition was turned to on. New sender solved my problem. Now it just leaks a bit

So how exactly does one test the sender? And how do I get the darn connector off to clean it? It doesn't have the nut like the above pic.
