what color Green is this?

Iv narrowed it down to the color i want. just cant be sure what it is. The description on one says 78 vw scirocco viper green. Is that the same as porsche green code 264? From alot of the pictures of viper green these mostly look different. The griots sc looks original and maby different than the rabbit one. I guess there was 3 different variations of viper green? From the search of vw viper green it looks to be correct. And from what iv been seeing there are many other opinions on what this color could be. Including
Mettalic Green 224
Lindgrun Green 137
Light gren metallic 275 (probrobly not)
Apple green Metalic ?

That is the same color I'm looking to paint mine! Good thing you are on the other side of the country!

Anyway, I believe that it is Viper Green Metallic 280.

Here is another pic:

Im doing it on a 914 according to this page there are two viper greens one metallic and one not. That could be the difference between 264 and 280

Yeah, I read that on the Griot's site as well. I read elsewhere that the Viper Green Metallic was optional in the early 70s and then turned to a "special order" color in the late-70s. Relevant thread where I snagged the 930 pic from:

viper green 930

if it helps, it really looks quite similar to the current VW Scirocco metallic green.
I see a lot of them as the plant is reasonably close by.

yes i believe that is also called viper green. I dont know the code but im a little weary of the new paints like the new camaro green . I hear its a candy and very expensive and hard to apply. Ill be doing it at home so i want it to go easy as possible. plus iv only ever done single stage never base clear so itll be a bit of an expeariment anyway. Though im betting they can mix up the same color in an easier paint. But i figure that new scirroco green can be a backup for me if they have a problem at the paint shop figureing out the porsche color.
