My kill switch & washer bottle install

The bracket was easy ; a template , a piece of scrap reinforced aluminium from the recycle centre, the jigsaw and a vice. KS is the 6 pole type.



Of course I used the factory fender holes to mount it up.
Tiny copper bracket over a piece of slit vacuum hose to clamp cable to bracket.

I felt the unused dash hole was a logical clean position for the interior mount.
I chose a T handle which matched my other orange coloured knobs and gauges.
The problem was that the metal shaft that protrudes from the dash hits the bulkhead.
The solution was to carefully hacksaw 1cm of shaft off, pull the inner cable sleeve out and snip the old clamped portion off. A cold chisel and hammer recreated the new clamp.
A piece of plastic lid tidies up the dash mounting point.
Of course another way would be to shim the threaded portion of the handle , but clearance to the wiper stalk might then be an issue.

The only hole I drilled went up just in front of the warm air hose in the bulkhead. I used a grommet to keep air molecules out.

My sticker machine came in handy too!



I'll run the other cable out through the trunk lid gap rather than cut a hole or by the other method of using the screen squirter hole.

Now for my washer bottle soloution.
The factory bottle is as we know a weighty algae-filled behemoth in the wheel well.
I only need a bit of spit from time to time e.g when kangaroos hit the screen.

Raided the camping box in the shed...

A tin mug , bolted to a pre-existing hole
A neoprene stubby (small beer bottle) holder fits in perfectly and snugly grips the 1 L stainless drink bottle . That was pretty easy to plumb in! Just make sure to leave a tiny airhole in the lid.

That's dirt , not rust on the floor. Sorry to disappoint; the car has never seen salt or acid.

That is perfect, Clever use and low budget, with excellent results. Losing the huge washer is a good weight saving issue, provided you don't have headlight washers.
