started my new project 1982 911 sc

the first thing i started with was shifting. the shifting was on and off. sometimes good sometimes not so good.
i replaced the front bushings. like to never got it back together.everything kept moving around. took my time and got it. went for a drive. things were a little better but not there.
while doing this i am hoping its not the trany. i changed the trans oil today. Swepco 201. not sure if any change. well the only thing left was the shift coupler.

i got out my tools out and pulled that sucker out. wrapped it in a rag and went to my work bench. picked the coupler up to look at it and the pressed in pin fell out. i ordered a new one. pin wore to bad, i could make one but the hole rod was egged and the housing was bent. you think this might be the problem with my shifting?

Why not check out Ivangene's coupler . It has made a huge difference for many of us. I can now downshift 5 to 4 with no effort or wondering if I will get 2nd. Shifting down to and up out of 1st is a breeze, 2nd to 3rd is very positive. Read about it here via search.
