Roll Back Issue
Has anyone bought a car with a rollback issue?
A seller of a 993 says his car does not have the correct mileage and he's being up front about it. Odometer says 45K, but actual mileage is 93K. The current seller bought the car out of state and found out after the fact. In order to fix the problem, the seller would have to go back to the state where he bought it from and hunt down the original seller, which is too big of a endeavor, so he chose to live with it. He's discounting the car because of that fact. Other than that, it's a well sorted car. My question is is it worth buying the car knowing that at some point you'll want to sell it and you'll have to explain the whole situation along with probably discounting the price? |
If you are going to be as honest as the current seller when you sell it, why not?

I'd be happy to take a discounted price on a 93K 993.
Cheaper to buy, cheaper when selling. |
Is there any way to change the speedo so it shows the correct mileage?
If yes... Buy the car, have it changed and enjoy. |
