Shortened the tail pipes. (without the dremel, I am nothing)
Added the black guard thingies since I had them lying around from a year ago!

Startin' to kinda look like Rarly's car but not a wide body. Man, that sure was a fun project

Oh, and Glaze, glaze glaze by 3M (get it at pep boys). This is the final piece in the puzzle for getting it to gloss up. Until I bought that, there just wasn't any hope of ridding myself of the fogginess.

Looks great! You need license plate lamps and a chin spoiler to finish the job(jmho);)

JonT 06-08-2002 03:26 PM

Kurt--that looks VERY nice. Where did you order the RUF parts from and how much are they? Thanks

Excellent ride!!!http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/clap.gif

I have to say that looks pretty sharp.

I say remove the rocker panels and the black rubber strip to complete the look.

What will you do about rear license plate lighting?

What did you use to mount?

Kurt-

Looks great. I really appreciate your before/after documentaton-makes for a brilliant post! Does your car turn heads, even in LA?

It would if he had a clown wig.

Thanks guys. Um, I just drilled straight into the fiberglass. Using the old black cross like thing to hold it.
I need to get some lights back there. Gotta get on that.

As far as turning heads. Anything racy turns heads. You put a 930 from any year in the same parking lot as a 996 or 993 na, and most folks will shoot right on over to the 930.

Mainly, it's lighter now and definitely a little quicker, and I no longer need rubber saver chemicals!

And finally, yup, I'm going to do the rockers next. That'll be cake.

is where I got the panels

That's a great looking car.

Kurt,

Thanks for the post mate. Appreciated. I'm ordering mine tonight along with the rockers.

JonT

The cost is US$450 for the front RUF CTR Bumper and US$250 for the IROC Rear Bumper.

Check Kurts post 'Looks like I'll be getting these' for more info.

Cheers
Mark

Looks better with the shortened tailpipes.

I'd paint the tailpipes flat black. The rims, too. As someone once said, the bumpers and twin pipes say "let's race," but the chrome says "lets do lunch." Mixed signals, too confusing. Flat black would be downright scary - all business.

Hahahah jim. I think you're half right on that. I live in rice country. When in rice country, eat a little rice, show a little rice eh?
Okay, I'll 'investigate' the matter.
Actually, I'd like to get 9" rears, and if they're black, I'll leave em. What I thought I didn't like about blacks before was the color...now I realize it was the size: too skinny. If you fill up the wheel well with black rims they look really, really mean. Let me see what I can do with photo shop on this matter.

A stunning car made even nicer! Congratulations. It really looks great. Thanks for taking time to share the before and after pics. I'm surprized the difference is as dramatic as it is. Wow.
