Question Converting tacho from 4 cyl to 6 cyl?

I recently acquired a 10,000rpm vdo tacho which looks exactly like those used in the 3.0RS & early RSR models but it has 4 zyl stamped into the circumference of the case (can't think what it might have come from). Anyone know what's involved in converting it to 6 cylinder?

Andy,

I am sure it is a simple thing, one that a speedometer (with Bosch certification ... not Lucas) shop could probably take care of.

Short of disassembling and feeding it a 45 Hz pulse train and looking for an adjustment to make it read 900 rpm for idle ... and checking with a 300 Hz pulse train for calibration at 6000 rpm ... it is probably best left to professionals with experience!
