OK...I have another issue, minor as it may be. My foglights don't work...or more appropriately, the switch for my fogs does not turn them on or off. In the past, this was a minor issue for me and I am just now getting around to addressing it...I do want them to work. Now, before someone brings it up, this is a Euro car but I am fairly certain this has nothing to do with this issue. Other wiring seems very good. I think it is more attributable to the fact that the car has had a number of complex audio/alarm system arrangements in it (as you might expect after 20 years); the wiring under the dash can be more of a mess than usual...there are some interesting wiring arrangements that run all the way to the fuse box and battery, from current and past audio/alarm systems...and even a built in radar detector.
Anyway, back to the problem. The fogs work when I tie them hot from the fuse box...so, I know they can work. However, the question is really from the switch to the fuse box. Currently, there does not appear to be any wiring to the fog light fuse. It doesn't seem likely that this was never wired. It seems more likely that they were disconnected, either intentionally or by accident (there are a lot of old audio/alarm wiring remanants...i.e. cut wires that were never pulled). The fog light knob does light up when pulled on, in conjunction with the headlights being on. The button does not light up with only the parking lights on. This may or may not be normal, I don't know. However, I cannot pull the fog light switch from the dash to check out the wiring. Obviously, there is wiring from the headlights to this switch, otherwise, the light wouldn't come on. I have not found a single schematic that can help me out (although, I've only looked at Haynes manuals - relatively useless). I would really like to pull the switch to see exactly how its wired, however, the solid metal dash behind the plastic prevents me from doing this. Can this be done relatively easily? Any thoughts or suggestions are appreciated. ------------------ 1982 911SC Euro [This message has been edited by J-RAD (edited 08-13-2001).] |

Why not just retore the wiring to the factory configuration as shown on p. 307 of the Haynes manual? That diagram includes the rear fog lamp that your car probably has.
For the benefit of those without the Haynes manual, the same diagram is shown here from the Pelican Electrical Diagrams section: ![]() ------------------ Warren Hall 1973 911S Targa 1992 Dodge Dakota 5.2 4X4 parts hauler |

I'd love to...and that is my goal. Except, as I indicated, there is no wiring to the fuse box (i.e. no white/green wire anywhere!). If I could pull the switch that would be very beneficial, however, I don't know of an easy way to do this...if an easy way exists!
