Oil Pressue Sender Wiring Question

I have a 1978 3.3 modded turbo motor in a 1989 930. I have changed out the oil pressure sender which was ordered through our sponsor. I ordered the sender for the 1974 through 1983 motor since my block was a 1978. It is represented by photo 1. The sensor that had been installed must have been from the original 1989 motor as it is represented by photo 2 which is the sender for a 1984 though 1989 motor. The wire from the oil pressure guage is single wire with a female fitting that pushes onto the post pictured in photo 2. I did not notice the differences until trying to attach the female fitting to whate is a bolt and nut fitting pictured on photo 1. Logic tells me to snip off the female fitting and crimp on a flat round terminal such as pictured in photo 3. Those that understand the principal of the oil pressure sender, does this make sense? I questioned Pelican and Robert replied saying that he does not have first hand experience with such a mod but it made sense to him. Thanks in advance for input.

Go for it!,, The ring terminal will provide a more secure connection, Be careful not to overtorque the nut at the electrical connection,

Cheers, Lou

Sensors should match the gauge. Terminal connectors are a personal preference.

That really is the question isn't it? I assume since guages stayed 5 bar through the dates that callibration would be the same. I guess only VDO could answer the question. I will let the group know what my results are.
