Smile Red heater levers adjusting

When i start my 1987 porsche carrera, the heating fans start turning and will stop when I press hard on one or both red levers between the seats which are in a closed position...
How and where do I adjust to ensure proper operation?
Thanks

The switch contacts sit beneath the black plastic heater control box, and you should be able to find enough working space to adjust them through the trap doors on the sides of it. See the pics below, one taken before totally removing the box, and one afterward. If you have the ability to zoom in one the area of the pic where the levers are withought going too much out of focus, you'll see the contacts on the sides of the lever base. Look for the yellow wires. I didn't have to adjust mine, so perhaps another contributor who has done so can give you the specific details, though once you expose them and view the operation of the contacts and the operating levers/cam, it may be really apparent.I hope this helps. Don~
