Hi... I love silver on these cars. Here is the galery for my 73"S". It is the original paint, with a paint code of 925 from 1973.

Hope this helps.

This is silver pewter metallic circa 1977-78 VW, not the original Tangerine.

and another...

I do have the trim for the windshield(s) but I am going to replace the seals which I now have, but then I also have to replace the headliner, the dash etc etc.....

Oh yeah, I also have to correct the rear ride height!

That's funny Reg, my 911's color per the color plate was originally Metallic Silver (6851). I've only known the car in it's current reddish/tangerine. I like the red.

This is the 993 era Polar Silver. Not sure about the paint code. The car was originally "Sahara Beige".

Remember changing colors (and doing it correctly) is much more difficult and costly than re-doing in the same color. However, I like Silver also.

The paint is plain PPG (sp ? the new name for ICI paints), with 980 size particles and 15% flip control.

980 particles are the second to most twinkly out of the range of four sizes. Any more twinkly would hvae been too rice.

15% flip control is the % of control over how the silver particles lie in the paint. I wanted my car to have the same color/look/lustre from whatever angle it's looked at. 15% worked well.
