Injector question DV0399 & DV0460

I was doing some research on some fuel injectors I have. I have two injectors marked "Germany" with part number DV0399. I reall can't find any info on them.

I also have what I think are 911 RSR 2.8L injectors. They have part number DV0460 on them. From the images I have seen and what info I pulled up I believe they are for the RSR. If and I say IF they are any idea on their value. They look to be rebuilt to me, but I am not 100% sure.

Your thoughts?

I know of a sale of 2 of the DVO460 injectors (used condition) in 2006 that went for $450USD each

Why do you say they look to be rebuilt ?

A well regarded race mechanic on this forum has previously posted that they used to replace the injectors on RSR's with matched sets of production EP/DCC 45 R 3 injectors. (I'm not sure of of what constitutes a matched set...)

I'v not seen the DVO399 previously, nor have I any information as to its application - could you please post comparative pics ?

Regards
John

Here are the pictures. The one on the left is a DV0460 the one on the right is DV0399. They don't look like NOS to me so I was thinking they were used / rebuilts, but to be honest I don't for sure.

A "matched set" refers to the injectors being tested for a matching flow rate. This really makes a difference in a motorsports scinerio. As a race mechanic in a number of pro series over the years I can tell you that "matched" or "calibrated" injector set makes a big difference. Most injector service facilities can perform this service for you.

Garold

Thanks for the photo's - they certainly do appear to be used items

Are there any perceivable differences in the nozzle tip ?

I'm really in the realms of pure curiosity at this point, as I've never seen one of the DVO399's.

Marc - thanks for your clarification on "matched set"

Regards,
John
