Pelican Parts Need Picture - Get your Car Featured in my New Book!

I'm not going to have time to get my 911 down to the dyno shop for a picture of it on the rolling dyno.

So........... If you have a picture of your car on the dyno being tested (can be any 911 1965-89), and you would like to have it featured in the book, I would love to use your photo.

Some caveats:

- Photo must be a minimum of 1024x768 - larger size is better. The cropped size of the photo must meet this minimum. I.E. If the car occupies 50% of the picture, and the rest is border or extraneous, then I can't use it.

- The lighting has to be proper and 'look good.' About 90% of the photos I've seen on this BBS are not good enough to place in print. This includes almost all of the photos from the Engine Pic thread that was on this board previously.

- You must sign a standard permission form granting me rights to use it in the book.

The upside for you? You can say that your car is featured in the book. This may or may not increase it's value in the long run. Typically it does!

Thanks in advance,

Wayne

I'm going to be run on a hub dyno (see "NE Dyno Day" below) in about a month or so. I can take all the pictures you want.

I suspect that is too far away...

Well, I'm a maybe. The engine builder has broken 2 ribs and his collar bone (ouch!). If he is ready, the car will be ready. If not, I wait

Not a great pic - but you can have it if you want it.

It's a 1988 930 - 1000 miles after a rebuild. If you look closely, you can see the ice we put on the rear wing to try to keep it cool. C2 Cams. Big flames.

Hey, just as Bruce anderson has a bunch of cool car pics in his book, you need the same kind of thing at the end of yours.

But rather than the famous and expensive ones, you should feature some cool pics of what guys here have done. I'd have in mind the basic 1 good shot of the car + a short caption/paragraph thing that highlights what the owner did.
In my very humble opinion NatChamp, Rarely L8, and Jack Olsen's would be pefect (If I'm forgetting someone, sorry, these are the three that really stand out to me offhand).

The kind of work done on their cars is phenomenal. From Jack's straight forward race interest to Rarely's A+ body and now turbo engine work, to Natchamp's essentially 'beyond-description' body + engine modifications.

Whatcha think?

That's a fantastic idea. Trouble is, I'm already over budget putting in other stuff. Don't forget I'm duplicating the parts diagrams for the engines from 1965-89, and also recompiling all of the technical specs...

That's not a great pic, but it's getting better...

I think Matt Hollcomb must have a good picture. Remember his video clip? His yellow 911 looks very nice.

Very cool! Alan and Green 912, these are very close to what I was looking for. Please do send what you have in high-quality compressed Tiffs or jpegs to wayne@pelicanparts.com, and I'll pick one or more of them!

Nah, it has high back seats, white dials and the wheels should be the same colour as the Carrera script. I'm...... not....... jealous......
