Will this A/C compressor bolt right in?
 

I found the following rebuilt unit:

I think it will bolt right in my SC, is this correct?

I just bought a sanden compressor from them two weeks ago. They were very helpful and fast.

Will these bolt on to a 2.7L with york A/C? I need a new compressor and that is exacly what I've been looking for.

Yes the Sanden 507 was the update for the old york. It draws alot less power from the engine. I had the updated Sanden already in my car but the compressor had a small leak. Purschased a new Sanden 507 Compressor set up for the original R-12 that the system ran on. You may have to modify your old mounting plate. I purchased the new compressor from ackits.com for $251.53 (PART#34006MD).

If anybody is interested I will sell my old Sanden 507 for $75.00 w/out shipping. Only needs the seal replaced. However if you have the money I alway's recommend buying the new unit.

If I could do without A/C in TEXAS, I would! Unfortunately, its a necessity around here...

it doesn't look like that compressor will mount to what I have in my car. Can anyone confirm for sure or can I get a new mount from the dealer?

Thats what im curious about too, it seems that it will bolt in, longways, such that the clutch is in the correct position, i wonder if there will be room with the airbox cover.

Yes it fits perfect, I have a 1975 911. You could call AMA (ackits.com) and ask them about a mounting bracket. I believe Griffiths also sells a mounting bracket for the Sanden 507 that replaces the York compressor in a 911.

Ok.. that makes sense. I saw the bracket on griffith's website. Are they more expensive for the compressor? Do you know what they get for the bracket?

ackits.com was the cheapest I found for the compressor that I was looking for. You might also try VERTEX in Miami. They might sell you the bracket at a good price.

The NipponDenso compressor is also standard on many American cars. If you call Checkers or any good parts store and ask for a ND compressor for the following cars, the price may be lower and available in your area.

Since you guys are on the topic of A/C. I was planning to have my A/C system rebuild. I was wondering what type on AC compressor I should use on my 1972 911s with weber carburator. The compressor was taken off by the previous owner. The hoses seem to be intact. Also, there is no condenser. Any suggestion and cost estimates would be appreciated.

Go with a rotary compressor as the old York was a boat anchor. The Sanden is a good unit but nothing wrong with the Nippon Denso either.

While you are at it, put in new hoses and such to make it last. Since the PO has taken the old compressor out, your dryer is also toast, and will have to be replaced.

Try Zims out in Irving. I got the compressor and conversion bracket for about $250.
