GTS Rallye Seats

Hi All,
Assembling parts for my next project, the theme is an early lightweight r-gruppe/lichtbau narrow with touches of modern (ITBs, xenon lights)

I exchanged a few mails with Stefan at GTS (classiccarseats.com) who was very responsive and thoughtful. He did share some opinions about which seats are most appropriate, not the typical vendor attitude of "all my stuff is great," rather he listened to what I was looking for and discussed plus/minus of each model. In the end he didnt steer me towards teh most expensive model or options.

I am just about to pull the trigger on a set of Rallye seats in black leather with Alcantara centers and dark grey, waxed thread (to match the dash stitching and in turn to match the paint.) I wanted a seat you sit "in" not "on" but still accomodates my broadish shoulders. I wanted a steel cage/structure to the seat as I want some protection and am not planning on fitting a cage. I wanted 5- 06 -6-point harness options and sliders. I liked the look of the Nurburgring seat which is very popular but that lacks the protection and doesnt sit as deep as the ralllye.

Any alternatives, suggestions, warnings or encouragement regarding these seats? Anyone have one in the Toronto area I can sit in?

John, I had these in my ST. I kept them when I sold the car. LOVE the seats.

The steel frame seats are great because they have the "spring" webbing in them. Very comfortable. I am 6'3" and 200#, 34 waist. They are a little loose in the middle which is great for the street. Cinched down in a harness they fit nice and tight for the track.

Highly recommend these seats.

Thanks JP.

Anyone else have or sat in these? How has alcantara held up in your cars?
