Is this an "S"?

I found a Porsche in a storage unit and the chassis # is 305705.
I checked the engine # and it's a normal but the books seem a little ambiguous on the chassis number.
Thanks for the help.

If the chassis is an "S", then the VIN will have the letter S stamped at the end. The number you posted, if that is the complete number, is for a normal.

Porsche Engine Numbers

Here's a pic of my '71 S engine. (Now if I could only find the S car)

Hi Doug,

I see you posted this question in the Classified section about the 2.4L S coupe currently on eBay that is bid to $140K. You might want to start the same discussion in the Market Place section.

Porsche Marketplace Discussion - Pelican Parts Technical BBS

You will no doubt start a lively debate there.

As to the 2.2S on the Samba, I would love to see that car go back to it's original color of Conda Green with a Cinammon interior, but that is a full restoration to do that so I don't think the asking makes sense yet for that one IMHO.

Matching the car and the engine is the key though, what about just the engine 2,2S, or a non-matching 2,2S in a T?

[EDIT] I'll repost on mkt plc

That's how my car was found down in Bakersfield. The gentleman whom I bought it from had won the contents of a storage unit in a lien auction. The car was inside.
