Carrera 3.0s with ducktails??
Did Carrera 3.0's ever come from the factory with ducktails?
I have seen this a couple of times both in Germany and recently in the thread on Carrera decals in the link below, BUT, was it ever original? http://www.californiacars.com/cardtl.cfm?stockid=10809 Al G. |
Hello
AFIK: The 74 on cars had the new carrera spoiler with rubber edge. The ducktails where not allowed as a standard option in germany but on singular permission. Some dealer retrofit them on new cars and maybe Porsche did that too. Now france and other countrys could order the ducktail. They where also used on the US carreras. Grüsse |
different Carrera's...
The ad says the car is a 1975, which would make it a 2.7, not a 3.0. I believe the Carrera 3.0's were produced from `76-`77, and were not available in the US. I think the `74-`75 Carrera 2.7's had the duck tail available (at least in the US), and the `76-`77 Carrera 3.0's had the first generation Carrera tail, which resembled the one from the Turbo Carrera. Then there was a funky all-rubber tail available on the `78-`83 911 SC's. The next (last?) generation Carrera tail appereard in 1983/1984 with the Carrera 3.2. ;)

freefly's right
Saw that "Carrera" ad. Place is California Cars in Callabasas, CA. Good guys, actually. I suspect a 3.0 transplant in that one, but not sure.
