993-97 immobilize troubles

Aloha, Programed a new remote into system. Used the remote once and after that could not dis-arm the system. I have tried to synchronize the system by opening the closing the doors trunk and lid, but the alarm is still on. The key in the door will not work either.
I think it is the immobilize has gone bad. What happens if you program more than 4 remotes? Any ideas on what could be wrong or what I could try?

I would bet that a position switch is bad in the right door telling the alarm that the car is still locked.
