Different fan/alt on 964/993 engine
Don't ask why
![]() Has anyone installed the earlier fan/alt setup from a 3.0 or 3.2 into a 964/993 engine? What is involved? Especially the belt? Currently my 993 transplant into my 1973 has the Rothsport single pulley setup. The reasoning behind this "mad endeavor" is that I truely miss the high pitched whine from these earlier fans as part of my driving experience. The fan noise from the 964/993 style fan is just too quiet and refined for my taste. Thanks ![]()

You'll also get better cooling with the 965 fan, at least I did when I changed them out.
