This is sooo funny, Anthony! How many fools are going to pay the outrageous price, all wanting to be cool, like Steve McQueen? The truth is, McQueen looked cool..period. He could have been wearing $1.98 sunglasses bought at Wal-Mart, and he'd look cool. I could put on $700 sunglasses, and I'd still look like an old Big Ugly Fat F**ker!

I have been looking for some sunglasses like Robert Redford wore in "Spay Games." Actually he wore two types, Ray Ban Aviators while driving the 911, and a double bar, gold wire frame type in scenes with Brad Pitt. The second pair were somewhat like I've seen Nigel Mansel wear. Can't find those.

Good 911 driving scene as the last scene of the movie.

Bob? You've got it! Except... the gloves would "must have" string backs, and cut off tips...so you could pick yer nose with style. Sorry folks, but I'm LOL here...WHY do I get the feeling you, Bob, also didn't order those sunglasses???

you can put an ugly girl in a pretty dress, and you'd still have an ugly girl in a pretty dress. not that you're ugly.

Oh yeah, John...I'm so ugly that losing weight wouldn't help. But even in that, there is an advantage... People often think "ugly" means "stupid". But I wonder, how many guys posting here would consider Angelina Jolie, or Brad Pitt, for that matter, to be smart??? They sure are pretty to look at, though. Come to think of it...Bill Gates. Pretty ugly, right? But he was smart enough to choose a "fellow nerd" as a wife...and so far, he seems happy with the choice.

I'm on your side Saffs: Ice site. There's just something about vintage, famous-esque shads that I like too

Porsche Crest Shades

Hey man, part of being COOL is having the right SHADES. And I'm not talking about some Oakley Razor Extreme Snowboarding Surge Soda Dodge Neon One-Way Terminator Glasses, I'm talking about what Hunter S. Thompson called "wraparound Danish Sunglasses" in Fear and Loathing, 1971! A big honkin' pair of BluBlockers or Foster Grants like McQueen and THE KING wore! Yeah. YEAH!

Think about it: you roll up to your split-level ranch home in southern california in your 1971 911S Targa (in a period '70's color like BROWN or ORANGE) and prepare to go inside and sit in your shag-carpeted conversation pit and drink a Harvey Wallbanger- are you going to do it in a pair of Oakley Blades? No Way. Ray-Bans are what you need to complete the "look."

I am going to get a set of these and keep them in the glove box of the '71.

Of course, Paul, we all know that "knowing" and "being" are two different things! Missed you at Gary's Campout - we'll have to do that photo shoot of your car another time.

Randy, Me too, sorry we didn't hook up at the campout. Momma nature foiled me...but at my advanced age, I don't like spending a couple of days washing a cars bottom, then driving in the rain. I guess some things just aren't as much fun as they used to be? Any chance you'll be making the PIR historics this year?

Don' t think so, Paul. I'll be organizing the R Gruppe car corral at Seattle's Historic Vintage races the weekend before. Any chance you'll be there?

(Sorry to corrupt this thread, but Pelican's email posting doesn't work very well)
