Quick one - Targa Seal? Which one?
Hey all,
I'm no pro with photoshop so I'll have to rely on your collective imaginations. I cannot seem to find the part number to order the targa seal that goes between the bar and the rear window. I see the seal that is on the targa bar and provides the seal between the targa top and the windows. That's not the one I'm looking for, though. I've spent around 30 minutes...am frustrated...and hoping one of you guys can help another guy out. Many thanks. |

You're my kind of porsche gal!
Thanks so much. Any suggestions on what kind of adhesive to use? I think you can use any weatherstripping adhesive at the autoparts store, right? |

Yes. That is what I would use.

Open up this link and see your car's entire parts diagram. It will save you much frustration.
Go to pdf page 239 of 400 (in the body section) and see your part. Stephanie is spot on. Also, Joe Bob's suggestion of Dan Pechtel is something you should put in your hip pocket for down the road. He is one of a very few Targa top gods in the US. www.porsche.com/all/media/pdf/originalparts/en/E_911_77_KATALOG.pdf I do not remember using adhesive on mine as it squeezes pretty tight on the stainless bar. Can't hurt though. Get the 3M brand adhesive in the red tube. About 8-12 bucks.
