VIN tampering
Numbers Games VIN tampering Straight to the point: Let there be no doubt that it is illegal to tamper with a VIN on a vehicle or even the parts of a vehicle. This is not an all inclusive list of state laws/statutes. It is merely a sampling. Do not assume because a state is not mentioned here that there are no such laws in that state (country).

![]() ![]() pwd72s - Thanks for your advice & concern, but I am looking for a DIN mount, as in Radio/Stereo/AM/FM mounting plate to fit the dash on my 72 911. The early cars used a "twin post" type of mounting plate. The later stereo/AM/FM/Cassette/CD players are all DIN spec mounting design. There are various DIN mounting plates listed on eBay, but a search here on Pelican does not give me any fitment info for my 72 911. Thanks for the free bump. DIN! Duh! Bone tired from yard work. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!
You might call Crutchfield?

The stock opening is basically a din hole, so the sleeve that comes with any single din radio will slip in, bend the tabs and away you go.....an extra bracket on the rear of the unit will keep it from bouncing around a lot.
If you remove the basket weave panel with the two-shaft holes, you will be all set....you could easily fabricate a steel plate that you can affix a piece of basket weave o, or else make it out of a thin piece of plastic
