vacuum line goes where??

ive been chasing a vacuum leak. car runs well, but when i go to take the oil cap off it stalls. i replaced a few cracked lines, but nothing. the car is a 85 3.2. i found this line this morning that seems to go nowhere. i can feel the suction when the car is running. its on the left side . i cant feel anything back there that it should go to. also, when i replaced the vacuum lines from back of the throttle bottle to oil tank, there was a plastic piece that fits in the hose. cant remember where and how it goes in. its either the hose to the filler neck or to the oil tank. thanks for the hel[p

The vacuum line goes to your cruise control module. Close to the other hose pictured, which is actually a vent line.

Engine revs should drop when you take off the oil cap, but should not completely stall. Idle with the cap on should be around 850 rpms. Plug in the vacuum line on the cruise control module and see if that fixes the problem.

quick uopdate. i never found where there small vacuum line goes. i was still having problems with stalling when oil cap came off. the plastic piece(picutured on pic 4 and 5) i knew it fit into one of the hoses going to the oil tank. i took off the top one and placed it in there. now my idle is fine and no stalling with oil cap off. i did find one problem though. not sure what the piece is called (i think venturi pipe) goes from mass air flow to a plastic connector on the drivers side. i saw where p.o. placed balck electrical tape over it. it started to crack so i placed more tape over it. just for a temp fix. i take it that part is still available? im glad my idle problem and stalling is fixed!!

The broken hose with the copper nipple you are showing is from the return to the oil tank (to the back of the throttle body; The copper nipple sits in that tube to prevent oil splash to get all the way into the throttle body housing.
