Alternative to butyl tape
Folks,
Any options other than butyl tape for the gasket between the body and front fenders? I'd (ideally) like to be able to take the fenders off without them being stuck to the butyl. I assume I need some sort of gasket in here to stop rubbing, and seal the gap. Anyone use anything like neoprene rubber or some sort of "reusable" gasket in there? Thanks |

This may be a dumb question, but is it possible to use single-sided butyl or other closed-cell foam tape for the fenders, or must it be double-sided? I'm going to be doing this job soon myself, and as is obvious, this will be the first time.

That's what I'm thinking. 1/8' neoprene tape. Glue on one side. |

I guess as long as you don’t get your car wet you’ll be ok using something other than butyl tape.

I use 3M seam sealer. It does not come off easily, but it is very durable.
