Alternative to butyl tape

Folks,

Any options other than butyl tape for the gasket between the body and front fenders? I'd (ideally) like to be able to take the fenders off without them being stuck to the butyl. I assume I need some sort of gasket in here to stop rubbing, and seal the gap.

Anyone use anything like neoprene rubber or some sort of "reusable" gasket in there?

Thanks

Why would you want to take fenders off more than once?? If you’re doing a fit just leave the backing paper on the fender side of the tape until you’re ready for permanent fit.

This may be a dumb question, but is it possible to use single-sided butyl or other closed-cell foam tape for the fenders, or must it be double-sided? I'm going to be doing this job soon myself, and as is obvious, this will be the first time.

The slope is not slippery; in fact it is entirely frictionless.

I like messing with the car and I take it apart a lot. I want to be able to take it apart and put it back together without having to scrape and replace butyl tape.

That's what I'm thinking. 1/8' neoprene tape. Glue on one side.

I guess as long as you don’t get your car wet you’ll be ok using something other than butyl tape.

Good thing it never rains in Norway then 😁

Double-sided butyl tape it is.

I use 3M seam sealer. It does not come off easily, but it is very durable.
