Tiresize on Magnus Walker built 1972 911
Well, this car stands perfectly on it's wheels... I think
![]() Are the tire-sizes known? I found out it has 15 inch 7J and 8J wheels, but can't find anything about the tires. ![]() ![]() Same counts for this one: ![]() Last edited by sid86; 10-03-2016 at 09:17 AM.. |

Sid,
Magnus used to be very active here, but I think there were some less than polite posters on a few occasions and he stopped, but he had a very long thread going and in it he gives contact info and I think somewhere in there he has even mentioned tire sizes and types. porsche collection-out of control hobby

I believe those are Hoosiers 225/50/15 245/50/15.
I'm running that size here. Sorry I don't have a better pic on my phone ![]()

I'll look it up. They are Hoosiers. I ran a gearchart for him last month.

I don't know about the first 2, but I know on 277, he said he runs 225/45 on the front and 225/50 on the rear, both are Hoosier slicks.

The problems Magnus had weren't with anyone here. The problems were with Porsche. After the crash Porsche ended their relationship with Magnus. I think he moved on to trucks.

He runs 205/55/15 on the SWB cars.
Magnus is still doing Porsches. He will be at SEMA with a new build. He was in Porsche's hospitality and in the garage at the post race party at CotA two weeks ago. I don't know what this is about the relationship being ended.

205/55R15 on 7 all around, or on 7 front and 8 rear?
I was hoping for 205/50R15 and 225/50R15, because there are some nice matching Pirelli's in theze sizes. The cars he builds were wat got me into these old Porsches. It was proof and an example for me that modifying these cars could be done and was being considered 'OK'. Hope he's doing well and enjoys whatever he's doing at the moment! I suspect he runs the 225s on the lwb cars. They have a wider rear end.

I follow Magnus on instagram (and rockabillyjay too...just bought a sweet shift coupler cover plate from him) and he seems very much still in the Porsche world. As Matt said, he was just at COTA, and he's been at a few other Porsche sponsored gatherings so I don't think there's any issue there. As far as him not posting here...my guess is he's pretty busy.
I've never read his thread but I love his cars and his sense of style, and I think it's awesome that he has become a sensation despite all the naysayers. Soooooo many have been inspired by his work.

I texted Maurice and his response was :
" 225/50 rear, 205/55 front if I remember right, but I'm 90% sure" so there you go

Why 55's in front, is that for a smoother ride, per-se?

the diameter (and sidewall height) of a 205/55 (112.75 sidewall height) is VERY close to the diameter/sidewall height of a 225/50 (112.5 sidewall height)
