Rear Sway Bar Links
How do I replace these?
Do the training arms bits come off? All parts on my 77 911 are out of round. The mounts on the car were bent too. I got them straightened and back in the right spots. I've been looking on the site but can't locate the replacement drop links. |
1977 was the last year for the "ball and socket" drop link attachment on the trailing arm. After that, the link was attached to the arm simply using bolt into a boss on the arm where the old socket used to be.
Do you want to stick with the OEM (fixed length, ball-socket) drop links, or go with adjustable? The adjustable type attach to the trailing arm at the camber adjustment bolt, and work for either style arm. See this link for some more info (pictures are for 78+ arms): http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-technical-forum/713360-adjustable-rear-drop-link-attachment.html Some pictures of your damaged parts may help as well. |
The steel eyes that the plastic socket is pressed into is oblong. Basically the Drop Link.
So how do you attach the newer style to the older style ball and socket? Anyone got any pictures!!!! |
