Any issues with using small wheel spacers/adapters on the track?
I was thinking about using a 1/2 to 1" wheel adapter, but I do four or five drivers ed events a year with the car. Any issues when using a good adapter such as H&R?
If there is, what is the maximum regular spacer that I can safely use with my stock studs? Noel |
Some clubs tech inspections frown on the adapter style spacers - those that have their own studs. I have personnally used these successfully and have never been given any flack. You might want to get the kind with through-studs to avoid any potential problems.
Another problem with the adapter style is you end up doing double work everytime you remove them. That can get old fast. |
I use the through-bolt type. They are better. 930s have, like, 2 or 3 inch through-bolt spacers, from teh factory. If you use spacers that are thicker than about 3/8", you will need to install longer wheel studs. It is also a good idea to use steel nuts, they are available and they are preferred by the track guys.

Thanks guys. I think I only need about a 1/4" spacer to stop the tire from hitting the oil line in hard left turns. It sounds like I can safely use my stock studs with that size spacer and then possibly upgrade to steel lug nuts. Does Pelican carry these? If not, anyone know of a good source?
