1972 Distributor Advance Difference

I find myself needing to replace the distributor on my 72 S Motor. Looking at the Technical Specifications manual for this year, the advance curve for the S and T distributor are the same, however the part numbers are different for the two distributors. Other than the rev limiting rotor, is there any other difference. I 've got a source for a T distributor that I would like to purchase but only if it will work in the S motor.

Ron, only thing I know is that my trusted mechanic tells me that a pertronix unit works in a 911T distributor, but not in a 911S distributor. I'm talking 1972 versions. This tells me that something must be different between the two.

Only difference was the rev limit on the rotor. The 'Euro' 2.7 Carrera distributor will also work ...
