Dansk 'sport' muffler for 1985 ?

Perf Products is selling a single in, single out Dansk 'sport' muffler for my 1985. It's supposed to appear OEM but sound 'sport' ??

It's NOT stainless, but painted black.

does anyone have any experience with this muffler ?
Its listed as a 'new' product for them. Is this a new muff for Dansk ? I'm confused. Is this the Dansk muff everyone always talks about ?

Tim,

(1) Call Steve at Pelican if you wish to order the Dansk. While not everything is listed on the site, they can obtain all the varioius Dansk offerings. You'll likely also get a better price and better service than PP as well, at least in my opinion.

(2) The Dansk offerings are a little confusing. I had a couple of nice conversations with the Dansk rep in the US, Mike Jensen (530-676-7246) and think that I now understand what they offer for NA 911's:

(a) Original OEM replacements
(b) "Original Style" non stainless sport exhaust, with 70mm tip
(c) Stainless Sport Exhaust with 84mm tip

I don't know the status of the first two, but the Stainless Sport Exhaust with the 84mm tip(s) has been on backorder for several months. The distributor (SSF) now advises they should be in by the first week of July. After a fitment problem with a GHL (another story entirely) I'm one of several customers that Pelican has waiting for these to arrive.

I bought my Dansk Sport muffler (single in, single out) from Pelican last summer for my "84 Carrera. I would recommend you call Pelican for the best price and customer service.

I got the stainless steel unit with the 84MM outlet pipe. It looks like the OEM muffler and fit exactly into the mounting straps, etc. I use it in conjunction with a cat test pipe.

It has a very nice sound, athough it is a few db's louder than the OEM muffler. I am very pleased with the Dansk and the stainless steel is a thing of beauty.

I actually called Pelican when I saw it on the PP website, but they couldnt find it in their Dansk catalog. I'll call again and ask for Steve.

I want the non-stainless sport muffler (cant afford stainless right now). I'll try calling them again and see if they have this beast.

I was about ready to call the Dansk rep myself and figure out what exactly they offer. thanks for the info
