Clutch Pedal Return Issue
 

I had a new clutch cable installed back in August. Everything seems better now with the shifting (though is still pretty stiff, maybe that's just Porsches though) except that there is now what feels like an extra return in the pedal after lifting the foot from engaging the pedal.

You push the clutch in, shift into gear. The point of engagement feels right, though maybe still a little too close to the floorboards for what seems right. But ok.
Release pressure on foot and feel pedal come back up, still keeping foot on the pedal. At this point, it feels like the pedal has returned.
But then I go to rest my foot over where a dead pedal would be, and the clutch pedal continues to pop back out a little bit more.

Thoughts?

My clutch pedal does the same after new clutch cable, i think you just need to adjust the cable at the pedal end or more likely the pedal box needs a rebuild and the bushes are worn out and the pedal does not move freely and the return spring pulls the pedal back up later. The clutch is proberly ok, mine does the same as yours and mines only done a few thousand miles .

I performed and adjustment after crawling under and figuring it out with good Pelican guidance. I found that the assistance spring was not actually hooked in the notch where it could provide more force for assistance. I am glad that that I was able to improve the engagement point and make it lower.

i think you are supposed to be able to lift up the pedal about an inch after you release it,, (i think it is in waynes 101 book).

Sorry for recovering a dead thread i am able to raise my pedal about an inch by hand after releasing it and it doesnt pop back to the stop by itself only to this inch or so point, do i not have a problem?
