Those who have removed A/C - How did you plug these holes?

Looking for ideas on how to plug these two holes for the auxillary blower on the front condenser. I am in the process of removing 100% of the A/C parts from the car, removed the compressor years ago, just now getting around to removing the rest.

If you have photos of what you did, please post/share. I really am not interested in welding in/painting. I plan to keep all the A/C parts in a box so that they could be reinstalled if a future owner desires to do so. Thanks!!

Good idea for the top one. That one is difficult b/c it's not a flat surface, it has a curve in the middle of the square.

The bottom one is pretty easy because it's flat. I can cut a piece of sheet metal, seal with silicone or weatherstrip non-hardening "clay" stuff and screw into place....this one is flat and there are already screw holes.

I made an 1/8 thk aluminum plate for the bottom hole. I have a 2.5 dia. hose going from the front hole to the evap blower box for fresh air, for the center AC vents. Works great.

Hey that's a great idea. I am doing the same, keeping the evap blower box (took it apart and removed the evaporator, put back together to reinstall w/ the blower only). Nice to have fresh air via those front vents for warm days or track days.

How did you connect the hose to the front hole?

I used a 8 inch wide Craftsman floor suction piece, then cut it to the right length, to snap into that hole, I put two side pieces of rubber on the sides, to seal it.
I can take some good pictures tomorrow, then post them.
I also made an aluminum smuggler box cover, with a hole for the vacuum hose.

Thin aluminum riveted and siliconed to the front hole; NACA duct and hose from the bottom hole to the evaporator blower (with evaporator removed) for fresh air.

I used Dynamat. This is the underside of the car. I also covered the hole from the inside.

While the '68 was in the shop getting rid of rust damage I had the holes welded shut.

A few pics of my setup, I got the idea from the above post, thanks! It works great.
I am going to make the same setup for my friends 80 sc
My evap is removed, and I blocked off the hole into the blower box, from the tunnel.
That is my stereo amp, on the smuggler box lid.

Here's what I ended up doing. Simple. Cut and bent aluminum pieces, sealed with silicone, and held in place with stainless steel sheet metal screws. Ready to go!

Y'all with the vacuum cleaner parts might want to install a screen over the opening. You're turning your car into a very expensive shop vac/bug sucker and/or leaf mulcher.

some scrap aluminum, neoprene gasket, sheet metal screws in original holes, and some pop rivets.
