Wayne -

Sorry if I've missed this before, but when will the book be out and at what pricepoint?

Even though I don't plan on rebuilding my engine anytime soon based on pictures like these the book will provide hours of great reading.

BTW, will board members have an opportunity to purchase prior to general public distribution?

Thanks.

Wonderful pics. You're such a tease, Wayne!

I can't stop playing the game. I think the oil pressure relief pistons may be conspicuously missing from this pic.

Super, you just reminded me of something I wanted to ask to board. I replaced the spring on my oil pressure relieve valve piston even though the lengths appeared about equal. I noticed a slight oil pressure increase. Is it possible that these springs can retain their length (the criteria we all use in deciding when to replace) and yet not keep their pressure. I guess what I'm asking is, what about metal fatique? Do springs loose their
inherant ability to provide pressure when compressed even though the non-compressed length stays the same?
Just wondering....

Good question. One of my springs was just a tad shorter than it should be, so I replaced it. Funny thing is, if I can trust my pressure gauge, maximum pressure fell. That is, oil pressure seems to top out just under 5 bar, rather than pegging the gauge like before. Indeed, my engine rebuild otherwise did not seem to impact oil pressure at all, cold or hot. Go figure. Well, it probably just suggests that the bearings with 182K miles were not particularly worn!
