PLS HELP - 66 - 911 Engine #?
Hello,
Long time lurker and new member. I am always amazed at the knowledge and passion on this forum. I am really hopeful that you guys can assist me. I was able to secure a barn find 66 911 coupe with sunroof. It has a VIN # reading C3039** and an Engine # reading 901 106 101 5R. Can anyone please help me decipher these numbers. Damn, wish Grady was here. Welcome to the board. U will find a lot of good info here and this is a great resource for driving and maintaining our cars.
If u look at the fan on the engine look from the right side view about 5oclock u will see numbers stamped into the right bottom support. Those r ur engine numbers. If u can get those, someone here can decifer them for u. Post pics of ur ride and congrats. |

The VIN# range for a '66 should be between 303391 and 305100.
The engine# range should be between 903551-907000 The number you have posted for the engine is not the engine serial number, but rather a casting number. |
