CDI Box problem

I am having a problem with my Bosch CDI box. When I have the ignition on I cannot hear the whine from the CDI and the car will not start. I have to wiggle the 3 pin connector around the most of the time I hear the whine start and everything is ok. I unpluged the 3 pin connector and cleaned them and di-greased them. I took apart the CDI box and did not notice anything broken in there where it connects to the circuit board. Still does not fix the problem. Anyone have any other ideas?

Thanks,
Jason

Jason albeit I have a six pin and have been told they work or they don't period, I had the same issue with mine. It lasted about a week and then bit the dust. I would start looking for one

Well, you could check all your grounds. I had a loose one between neg on my battery and the chassis and it fried the cdi.

And just os you know, there are plenty available at all the usual rebuilders and ebay - esp if you have a rebuildable core.

Check the PCB

Jason,
Remove the printed circuit board and re-solder the connections where the 3 pins go thru the PCB. Sometimes the solder will crack where the pin goes thru the board and the crack is not visible to the human eye.

+1. Could be a bad solder joint. Could also be a bad connection INSIDE the 3 pin
Connector. (Broken wire)
You will have to do some more very careful wiggling. Do it with the engine running.

I would check the wiring first. The CD unit repair requires more work and skills
