Hey Let's Talk Suspension

I always find such great info and interest on brakes and HP...but not as much suspension...

I hear snippets here and there
torsion bar sizes
raised spindles
RSR strut inserts
Bilstein Sport shocks
Adj swing plates
935 swing plates
Sway-a-way swing plates
930 trailing arms
SC trailing arms

mono-ball something or other
full coil over conversion
only rear coil over conversion
need a roolcage...
new bushings
strut bar
stich weld the front trunk seams
antiroll bars
charlie bars
strengthen anti-roll bar mounts

Most of the stuff above I do not know their advantages and what they do...

I guess what I am looking for is a set up for an early car with a 250hp engine...
I don't think I am ready for full coilover...I think I will stick with torsion....

track 20% street 80% (could be 30-70)

working out a 3.4-3.5L MFI 2xplug formula with some engine builders...930 brakes...lt wt interior

Firstly, how do you intend to use the car?

The tire size you end up with will also be a factor. Here's what I would suggest for an SC/RS flared early car with 250 HP that is 80% street and not bound by any rulebook:

Bilstein HD Front / Sport Rear
19/26 Hollow Torsion
Charlie or TRG Sway Bars 22/22 with reinforced mounts
SC spring plates with Neatrix bushings
Rubber bushings elsewhere
SC (Aluminum) trailing arms
Reinforced suspension pick up points
Front strut bar without monoballs
Quaife LSD

This would not be too stiff or noisy for the street but capable of keeping up with the engine (as long as you roll on the throttle!).

Bah.

Leaf springs are the only way to go.

Having little to no knowlege in this area, what would be the extreme suspension build up?* If you had the bank to let fabcar build it. What would it be?* No classification limits.* Let's not include some type of F1 active but something real that could be hung off a 911 shell or a tube frame that carries a 911 shell.*
Racers start your wish list!* $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
