Pics of non-Fuchs on your 911

Hey pelicans,

I'm curious to see the different looks people have adopted by going with non-Fuchs wheels on their 911's - whether for track or street.

For clarification, I'm not interested in pictures of post-1989 cars.... just 911's please.

With the picture let us know what wheels they are

FYI: There was a "Sticky" thread not too long ago which was an attempt by Pelican to catalog all the other possibilities.

It's no longer a Sticky, but maybe you could still find it, it was a heck of a collection. Some of the pictures were of unmounted wheels, or wheels not on the car yet though.

No pics for you but I like Fikse FM10s. I'm sure a pic will roll in though.

Thanks guys.... guess I should have used "search"

I think the look differs greatly on narrow vs turbo cars though, most of what I've seen pics of have been 930's.

The Fikse FM10's are nice, I would love to see a white 911 with the FM5's or HRE or Forgeline 5-spokes - have a thing for the less busy wheel designs.

Not to offend anyone, but 911's, as you have it phrased in your post, almost insinuates incorrectly that they were all built before 1989, but the truth of the matter is that they are still being built today as the 991, preceded by the 997, 996, 993, and the 964 - just so you know! The "standard 911" was built from '74-'89, although many changes were done before, during, and after throughout the several model runs to continue improving the breed.

Yes, the 'SEARCH' feature is useful and saves lives - let us know what you end up putting on your 911, minus the Fuchs!

Seriously? Why not add something productive to the thread? I made my post specific because I'm not interested in what wheels look like on 911s built after '89. The comment about "real 911s" was a joke - chill out.

Besides, there's a reason this board is called the "911 forum" and there are separate forums for 964s 993s etc...

Anyway, back to wheels....

Thanks for sharing! Nice look, the BBS suit the car very well.

EDIT: Corrected my mistake, as my friend Otto pointed out this is not a 930, but a 930 tail on an SC.

Speaking of knowing about Porsches, the pic above is a 911 SC with a turbo tail, not a 930 which actually is a 911 turbo - or were you 'joking' again without anyone knowing it?

I have to take the stance that the "911" ended in '89,...period....anything else is simply NOT a "911"....last of the torsion bars,....with frikin Fuchs (no aftermarket stuff).....

BEST!

ATS Cookies...

Noting all the chat about what is- and what is not a 911...here's a 923 on 15x7 cookies with Michelin 205-65-15 rubber. Kinda looks like a 911 (but doesn't act like one!) Ho Ho! R/Dave L.

With the permission of the owner of the car and the one who took the picture, this is by far one of my favorite non-FUCH wheel on a 74-89 body. These are Compomotives.

My mistake, it was ignorant of me to assume the model based on the tail. I stand corrected.

Thanks to those that have posted pics. JQ that is an epic looking 911! The compomotives have a very "industrial" look to them.

Dave, gorgeous example of a rare breed! Thanks for sharing.

Each to their own, but those Compomotives are beyond FUGLY (car looks good otherwise, though)!
