911S Steel Brakes?
Did the 77 911 "S" ever come with steel brakes? Mine has steel, they look like regular M calipers t me, but perhaps I am wrong?
I am fairly certain that they are just "M" brakes. If anyone knows any different, please let me know. I have searched and not found anything. Thanks for any help. |

Yes. Should be steel. 3.5" spacing, "A" calipers.

Thanks for the replies. Yes it they could have been swapped, especially considering the value.
They are 3.5 spacing. Would they be "early A" calipers? Are they as good as Carrera calipers? Thanks again. |

The SC and Carrera calipers are essentially the same...except the Carrera caliper has a spacer to give it a wider throat to accommodate the thicker Carrera rotor.

Not all S cars had S brakes. By 1977, the turbo still used them but the S and a Carrera 3.0 did not.
