Supersport Cabriolet - question
Hi there,
The m491 designation as far as I know is defined as a 911 Supersport Cabriolet or SSE (m491) in Europe. The car was basically a Turbo bodied non-turbo iteration of the 911. Question: Did this model ever make it to the States? I am trying to find one (I used to have one in the UK) and was wondering if such an animal was released here? TIA. Kemal ![]()

My ex-1989 M491, Supersport (as known in the UK) or WTL (Works Turbo-Look).
Sold it in 2010 to a nice gentleman in Rüsselsheim, Germany. ![]()

k8atu -
There have been quite a few threads talking about the Factory Turbo Look models. I decided that this was the car I wanted, since it has the turbo wide body that I love, but without the turbo. They are not very common- in fact there is a document floating around with the exact numbers per year that came to the US. They are pretty small numbers, especially if you narrow it down to a cabriolet, and especially if you want the highly desirable 3 year range 87-89 that came with the G50 5-speed transmission. Less than 100 cars, in all likelihood.
