Oregon PPI?

A friend has his heart set on a '76 912E that is located in Redmond. I've convinced him to get a pre purchase inspection, and am wondering if anybody has a suggestion for a shop to take it to in the area?

Cool

doug..I'm not sure I have this correct. Are we thinking about Redmond in Washington?? If so then a good P service/repair shop with a history/reputation may be better tuned to do a PPI than a dealer serviceing new cars all day...I know that Seattle has such a shop but I can't remember the shop's name..There are many beautiful 911s in the NW and someone around this BB would Know the shop's name...Ron

Call Steve Weiner @ Rennsport in Portland. He's the man!

I personally know the guys at Stuttgart Autotech, in Lake Oswego (just South of Portland) www.stuttgartautotech.com. These guys will do you right for less money. Not to say that Steve Weiner is not top notch as well - he definitely is. Depends on how much you want to spend for the same job.

However, Redmond Washington is a HECK of a long way from Portland. If this is what you mean, you should get someone in the Seattle area. John Walker's Workshop is up there - you'll find him in dozens of threads here on the Pelican BBS. I don't know him personally, but I've listened to him here often enough to have complete faith in anything he tells you about a car. Do a search on his name - he attaches his contact information at the end of his posts if I recall.

Redmond Oregon is smaller than spit. so is Bend, about 15 miles away. Carrera Motors are in Bend. They probably know the car! Were not talking LA here guys, but lonely central Oregon, more green tractors then all the Porsches. Steve Weiner is in Portland 150 miles from the car, also a great guy but a long ways away.
Go see Carrera Motors, great folks.

Your friend should find out who haas been servicing the car and contact them for a bit of history as well.
