993 Board and cup rims

I noticed there is a BBS for 993's. Should I go there with my questions? Its kinda dead. I will not be working on this car myself, my sense is its way to technical. Most of my questions will be cosmetic and 911 in nature. My first job is to clean up the cup rims they are covered in road rash. Any suggestions?

Hang around here BigB. Your posts are much to good to loose. As far as the wheels go, I wouldn't have a clue

You can paint them, that's what the factory does.
Strip off the old paint and get you local friendly bodyshop to re-do them.

If they have road rash, just sand them down, smooth them out, and respray.

Not sure on those specific wheels, but if they are like almost all German car wheels, Wurth Silver Wheel paint is a perfect match. You can get it (rebadged) at BMW and Mercedes dealers, or from many parts suppliers.

BigB, unfortunately the 993 forum here is pretty slow, but sometimes you'll find some help. Rennlist is more active, but about 1/2 the time its talk about how to make your 993 sound like a 911, if you catch my drift. Also a lot of talk about tires, spoilers and wings, etc. Still, there are some good knowledgeable folks out there. I'm pretty new to my car and have a lot to learn. So I guess I better get started. Enjoy your new baby.

Hmmm, wonder how a ducktail would look on this?

My suggestion would be to sell the cup rims and spring for the 18" Technology (turbo twist) wheels. I think they are the sharpest looking wheels on the 993, aside from after-market Fikse FM-10's that is!

Thats amazing! The dealer suggested the same thing about the wheels. I will need to save a few pennys for that. Maybe when the tires are spent.
