Final Painting

I spent the entire day sanding and taping the mirrors, bumpers, spoiler, torsion covers and headlight rings. I'd soaked the rings in thinner to soften the rattle-can paint, and when got my thumb caught in the back when cleaning them up - ow! Nasty little cut - bare-metal stamped steel is sharp - it cut my thumb going in, and it got caught, then cut it again on the way out!

So I got all the bits painted finally, and turned my attenion to color-sanding the car itself. I did the engine lid in #2000, #2500 and the polishing compound, and while it came out nice, I think I need to let the paint cure some more. Instead, I hit the entire car with wet #2000, and the paint still smells fresh underneath. I'll let it fester like that all day tomorrow, and then start sanding again tomorrow night.
