Where can I find engine serials on the web?
The official Porsche website only lists engine serial numbers for the early years of 911.
I need to verify the year of an SC engine. Some type numbers run for more than one year, and I want to be able to verify that the year is correct. Any online resources? ------------------ 1972 911S Targa ************************ My project! |
Bo,
I do not know of any online resources, but this information is in Bruce Anderson's Performane Handbook book and also in the Little Red Book. I have them at home and can check a number out for you if you want - just e-mail me the numbers. If you want to do it yourself, they both came from Barnes and Noble so you might be able to pick them up there too. Charlie |
Try this link from the 911S Registry board:

I got the number 63C1161 - but I strongly suspect that "C" to be a "0" - I've never seen letters within an engine serial before..
The guy couldn't find the type number -he'll try again today- but is there any way that the above number could correspond to an 82 engine? I have Bruce Andersson's book, but can't really find anything on engine serials, only type numbers. ------------------ 1972 911S Targa ************************ My project! |
